Laura Linney is an American actor who has become famous for her portrayal of vulnerable but strong characters. Born to a renowned playwright father, but being raised by a single mother, who earned her living in the field of nursing, she was drawn to theatre when working with her father during the summer then pursuing acting studies, first at Brown University and then at Juilliard School. Her Broadway career shortly after graduating after which she made her TV debut in the next year. In the years since, she's been involved in numerous films, television shows and stage performances. Her achievements have been numerous during her professional career, including several Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. However, in spite of numerous awards, theatre has remained her first love and she has continued to appear both in stage and screen.
